Bachmann house the digital chip in the tender which requires cables joining the loco to the tender. This 3F loco does not come complete with shorter gap between the loco & tender, as is the case with the class 2MT. So I have extended the footplate floor & fixed the low saloon style half doors which were fitted to some of these locos seeing them in photos. As the cab is so open and painted white inside I have also added crew. Hope it appears ok. The only major difference between the class 3F & 4F was train heating on the 4F. Some had different wheel size too. The 3Fs went fairly early because of their lack of train heating, not one is preserved anywhere. Train heating was becoming more & more a requirement, not just for passengers, but to operate temp' control on fridge & fruit vans. Bromsgrove shed provided a lot of the Midland region locos for the Evesham area traffic, & so in 1957, they added train heating to all of their 3F locos. I will add a heat pipe to our 3F so it can work pass & fruit. This is what playing trains is all about. Imagination, like reading a book. CORRECTION, WHAT A PIP! I have just discovered that the link bar between the tender & loco is on a sliding fish-plate so I have been able to close the gap between them. It looks like a real class 3F now.
