For me, lighting is very important as it sets the mood. On this very dull day where it was raining outside, the overcast sky flood lights the model, making it look almost wet. Although I cannot draw or paint, I have always taken notice of good advice from those who can. I have posted this with delight as a responce to a comment to one of my earlier pics. Thank you. In this pic, Ex wd 2-8-0 is working the Washwood Heath to Banbury daily pickup goods. The resident shunter is adding & detaching vans whilst the crew grab a cuppa with the signalman, trying to stay dry with their loco working tender first. The tank wagons, oil & cement, in the down main siding have all been cleaned & are waiting to be returned to Water Orton. Pick-up goods trains were common all over the uk particularly on secondry lines like ours. There was a daily pick-up from Leamington to Nuneaton where this kind of activity was normal. At some stations the train loco had to undertake the shunting using loops to run round its train. Our railway called HallBrooks has its own shunter, like Foleshill had at one time.
