I have many photo's of Coventry haulage companies, many I worked for, also my dad and brothers, but how do you post a picture on here?

I can remember it opening in 1960, the Car Delivery was the first to move in, as the General Haulage depot was in London Road, where the Mazda garage is now, Mortons moved in later at the end towards Toll Bar where that lane used to cut through, Progressive Car delivery moved to where the Mannheim entrance is on Rowley Road, depots changed over after a period of time, and after BRS took over Mortons.

Lathams Transport at Ryton A friend of mine owns the premises at Ryton that Lathams operated out of, he has caught the historic bug off me. He knows they transported vehicles for Chrysler/Peugeot and operated Fodens Can anyone tell me more, any former drivers around

In the late 50s/early 60s my late uncle drove tipper wagons for Johnny Reason, the speedway rider. He would load up with sand at Ryton quarry and, after weighing off, deliver to all around the Midlands. Bulk coal was another regular load.

Another one not Coventry but local. Jack Saunders of Long Itchington had a fleet of green AEC Lorries In 1968 Eliis Greaves bought Willoughby House off my mother, it was his intention to move their base there It never happened

When I worked at Rugby Cement in Southam, a couple of the drivers I worked with had worked for Jack Saunders, he had old Atkinsons at this time late 70's / early 80's. Jack retired to Australia in the 80's I believe.

My dad used to fill up with fuel on account here regularly. He drove for J Gilmartin who was a builder in Coventry. Lathams was owned by Mr Robinson who lived, sometimes, in accommodation above the garage. I used to 'play' with his son Martin. They also had a garage/depot in Preston, Lancashire.

Hi Single putter, my dad worked for Latham haulage in the fifties. From memory he said that the boss at the time was a kind man called Braithwaite? Dad drove Bedford O type trucks (tippers maybe?) and later worked as a fitter in the workshop and on breakdowns/ recovery. He was burnt badly one day when petrol ignited under a bonnet of a truck he was working on and was hospitalised. The original gates were to the south side of the garage and the last time I looked they were still in place bearing the Lathams initials L H. Not too sure if they are still there now?

I bought my Riley from a Coventry policeman who had bought it from Jack Saunders in a rough state and then decided it was too much for him. In an attempt to trace its history I tried to contact him in Aus to no avail.

Hello all. I am new on here, I was given a steer to join from a chap on Facebook after trying to find out some information on Mortons of Coventry. They used to deliver for Harry Ferguson to the dealerships using Vulcan lorries. The photo below shows one such delivery to Hartwell Tractors. The registration number of one on these lorries is LRW560. I am on a small quest to see if any of these wagons are still in existence or if anybody knew what happened to them? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Alf.

Yes, my dad used to drive for Red House in Cromwell Street, on the heavy haulage, low loaders I think I remember him telling me. Probably sometime in the 1950's I think.
My dad used to go out on breakdowns in the late 60s. It was probably the job he enjoyed most throughout his career!
