Thank you for that link Helen. I wonder if the odd angles that the photos are taken is on purpose? Wink

Big grin I did wonder if it was to tease me but having been to see the real thing the photographer was struggling to see round coat racks and avoid the worse of the glare from the light sources. Still, I appreciated seeing them and they filled in a few holes in the city images.

Thanks for the link. To do a proper reproduction of the watercolours would be quite an undertaking. The painting would have to be taken down and removed from their frames to avoid reflections from the glass. The photographic exposures would need to be done in a studio with probably 4x studio flash units to achieve even lighting. Then the cover glass would need to be meticulously cleaned prior to the paintings being returned to their frames. Estimated cost = min. £500 but probably closer to £750. The way they have been photographed was at minimal cost. But, it does avoid a big problem - nobody is likely to copy the images for commercial purposes.

I thought Bunney lovers might be interested in seeing this early ink drawing by Bunney. At this stage, 1900, he was living at 1 Spring Street, and was drawing at the Coventry School of Art.

This is the interior of Bunney's home at 1, Spring Street. It looks Spartan. Note the painting above the door.

Yes, it looks like the Needles. He visited the Isle of Wight later in life. I have a few small water colours of Sandown from 1927, just a year before he died. Perhaps it was a place he visited often. I find it very odd that with his considerable skill as an artist, that he did not work as a commercial artist.

Thanks Luke. You have compiled a great list there, it must have taken you ages Thumbs up It's a bit too tempting to be in the garden at the moment, but I shall certainly be interested to find out more about them.
