I remember going in the beer Keller with Baz and his mate [stocky man with black hair]. Baz did a flying head butt on the first bouncer he saw. He hated authority of any kind. Last place I saw him was in that little pub next to the Colin Campbell. Have you got a younger photo of yourself, you weren't the man who owned a house and let rooms out to the lads were you. He used to wear a leather cowboy style hat.

Have you got a younger photo of yourself. You gave me a lift to Newland Road once, my car had broke down.

Hi John, I know the guy you're on about. His name was Rob McGawley. His father was head of games at KHVIII. He has a motorcycle accident which caused severe damage to his lower arm. The hospital wanted to amputate his arm but he refused to allow it. He always maintained that as long as his arm was still there, there was a chance, however remote, that something could be done for him. If amputated, it was gone forever. Not a bad philosophy really. I knew him around the 1973-1976 period when he and I were both regulars in the Golden Cross.

That's very interesting MR, I worked with Rob for several years and he never mentioned his father.

I will try and trace him, I traced the guy who took the photo. Owen Cook, long blond hair, bushy ginger-blond beard, about 5 foot 6. Born Bell Green Cov. Now living in the Philippines. Designed, built and owns his own fifteen bedroom hotel. Also on the board of an engineering company. Millionaire many times over. Left Henry VIII school with an IQ of 150. http://www.torstencalvi.com/pages/people_to_contact.shtml Are you still living in Cov.

Owen Cook spent much of his time abroad, I befriended him in the Jaguar pub. I was going though a messy divorce at the time. He was a hippy type, shoulder length blond hair. He took that photo in the G Cross. I packed my job in for several months and we toured the continent and Ireland. St Tropez, Paris, Monte Carlo, Rome, Vienna, Austria, Germany, Holland, N Ireland, Dublin, etcetera. It was like a breath of fresh air for me. He was a very shrewd young man, he only told you what he wanted you to know. Great man and loyal friend.

That is true, we known him as Gig & Doug was on the back. We was all stunned when it happened. Such a loss
