Can anyone tell me where this is? It's Hillfields but a street name would help.

Perkins Street and Wheatley Street together - is this the back of the building above?

First impression Ben is that they're not different sides of the same building. I shall give it some thought. The bridge joining the two sides of the street is unusual.

For what its worth I think its Alma street looking east, the large building in the distance was in a past life Lucas aerospace, now a storage facility. Now I am waiting to be shot down in flames Lol

The end of the building has Dunlop on it, I think. I think that matchle55 has it right and it's Alma Street looking towards Hood Street.

The first picture has 4 rows of windows and the second only has 3?

Style of the brickwork, and the edging up and down the roof pitch is identical. If it's not another view of the same building, it looks like there might have been two buildings together?

While they demolished that side of the factory and rebuilt, they have refurbished the other side. Here you can see where the bridge entered.

Sorry to disagree Mick. It's the mixing of contrasting styles that give a sense of history.

I wonder if anyone remembers BerDots the batch shop on the corner of King Edward Road? Excellent pork and stuffing batches on the way to watch the City. Also, the Palladium picture house. My mother used to call it the flea pit! Seven pence for kids on a Saturday morning to watch a whole load of kids films, including Dan Dare. My mate's mother was an usherette and she used to let us in through the fire door. In the Summer they used to turn the heating on so you bought more ice cream to cool down! Finally, there was a toy shop on the opposite side of the road to the Palladium and down towards Primrose Hill park. It was in a short row of buildings that I vaguely recall had top shops. Used to spend my picket money there. Hillfields was a great place to grow up in during the fifties and sixties.

Hi Choirboy, you don't have to apologise and I value your opinion. Just not my thing in that particular setting. I think they could have done better things with the shipping containers.
