Hi all, Yesterday was a huge number birthday for a very favourite lady friend member of mine. Happy birthday. I will not give away details. My lips are sealed. Me know nothing!

Thank you, Jo. I came home last Wednesday from ten days with severe asthma in Ward 8a of Gloucester Royal Hospital. I was fitted with a mask to drive oxygen deep into my lungs. I am now very weak and must regain my strength. I was not expected to survive the first night in A&E emergency!

Keep fighting, Prof, it don't get easier at our age. I am just recovering from pneumonia and a stay in hospital and recovery takes longer than it used to.

Thanks, Neil. I think day by day I move towards normality, though slowly, to get there and feel myself again. So good to have Forum friends like you showing they care. Means a lot!

Recent chat on here made me remember we have so many members who are now no longer Coventry Citizens - either moved to another part of the country or have relocated abroad. I've been meaning to say for a while but if anyone is looking for or wants an image capturing of any particular place - maybe an old home or part of the City you grew up in - let me know. Always happy to get the camera out whilst on my frequent City rounds.........

Thanks Neil, not myself quite. My frailty clinic refer me to pulmonary rehab conveniently close to me but await letter. Not feel able to drive yet but will be short drive to pulmonary exercise. Been home two weeks, first week visitors every day but fewer now. One friend very good, can rely on. Great to have Forum though to take me out of myself. More cold weather to come Sunday. Have not been outside only briefly.

Evening all! Just a quick note from me to advise that I am standing down as a moderator of Rob's great forum. The forum has evolved over a number of years into something very different from previous times, when it was full of real Coventry people exchanging memories from their lives and the lives of their families and friends. Sadly, through various reasons, the forum has lost a large proportion of those people, and the content is now quite different overall. I'm grateful for the various friendships made through the forum, particularly meeting up with a schoolmate from 1954/5! I wish Rob, the rest of the "team" and forum members good health and happiness in the future. Cliff aka Midland Red

Hi all, I'm saddened. There are facts in life that whether we like them or not, are necessary. We can't have a working week made up of continuous Fridays. A song that was a favourite hit of mine from the past, "wish it were Sunday, that's my fun day". Sadly manic Monday, unless it's a bank holiday, for most is simply that. Our society only exists because of the maintenance of law & order. For that roll on our forum Cliff, you have been outstanding. Someone else is going to have to do it. I certainly cannot. I haven't got the skill or the temperament to do it. Often, it's only when a roll becomes vacant, that we see the difficulties involved. Most of us think we can handle anything that comes along, until we are put in the position to do it. Then, like most politicians, we fall flat on our faces. This is rhetorical, I don't want an answer, but even with one political party in Downing St. for over a decade, just how many prime ministers have there been! Too many. Our forum, in order to exist has to meet social media standards. It can't be left in free-fall. It will be closed down without maintenance & order. One last point. We on the maintenance team, are not qualified journalists. The greatest requirement for our roll is plain & simply commitment. In other words, time & energy. On that Cliff, you've never failed!
