Update:
Police are waiting to question critically ill Danish star Kenni Larsen who is battling for his life after being shot.
The ex-Newcastle, Coventry and Peterborough racer, 27, is in a coma in intensive care at the University Hospital, close to his family home in the Danish city of Odense after being rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds to his head last Thursday.
Larsen's mechanic was initially questioned but investigators are now saying Larsen was alone when the incident with an air gun happened.
Larsen has had two major operations to remove a pellet from his brain.
Odense police chief Christian Rasmussen confirmed: "Our investigations suggest that the gun went off while he was alone". |

Further news:
Danish racer Kenni Larsen's parents admit "his life remains in danger", but confirm he has become more responsive as he recovers from surgery on gunshot wounds to the head.
The Zielona Gora star was taken to Odense University Hospital last Thursday after a suspected accident with an airgun.
He underwent surgery to remove the pellet and a further operation to reduce the pressure on his brain. He remains in an induced coma, with doctors phasing out his medication to wake him.
His parents Vivi and Peter admit there have been some improvements in his condition.
But in an updated posted on Kenni's Facebook page, they wrote: "Kenni is still in a critical condition and his life remains in danger.
"BUT there is some good news: his level of infection is falling and his body reacts with muscle spasms when the nurses change his position in the bed. That's how we know that he is just under the surface.
"The doctors will slowly start the phasing-out of some of his meds today (Monday), but it will take about a week before this will have any effect.
"We hope and pray that he will wake up. Thank you again for all of your support. Vivi and Peter."

Sad news today from Poland:
Tarnow rider Krystian Rempa?a has died following the head injuries he suffered in Rybnik last Sunday.
The 18-year-old was airlifted to Jastrzebie-Zdroj hospital after an horrific crash, which saw him fall awkwardly following a collision with Rybnik's Kacper Woryna.
His helmet was ripped off in the impact and the fall left him with swelling and bleeding on the brain.
Despite undergoing surgery last Sunday, Rempa?a succumbed to his head injuries. Son of former rider Jacek Rempa?a, and nephew of Grzegorz, Tomasz and Marcin, Krystian was also well on his way to becoming a star on the shale. He was already a European Junior Team Championship winner with Poland. |

Former Coventry Bees rider Kenni Larsen has been discharged from hospital as he continues his recovery from brain surgery.
The Danish star underwent an emergency operation in Odense on April 21 after suffering gunshot wounds in what his parents confirmed was an airgun accident.
While Larsen cannot recall the incident and the following days, he is set to undergo rehabilitation and has already asked doctors about a track return.
"He will slowly begin to attend different events and go to watch some races. He has asked the doctors when he can ride again, but they can't tell just yet."
But posting on his Facebook page, parents Vivi and Peter admitted it is too early to set a potential comeback date.
They wrote: "Kenni has been released from the hospital and is still waiting to begin rehabilitation. He was too well to enrol on the program in Hammel, so he will receive his training elsewhere.
"Kenni was hit in the frontal lobes, which is where the personality is controlled. He does not remember the accident nor can he recall the first couple of days he was awake after coming out of the coma. He is still exhausted and needs rest.
"He will slowly begin to attend different events and go to watch some races. He has asked the doctors when he can ride again, but they can't tell just yet."
The Larsen family paid tribute to the thousands of fans throughout the world who have sent the rider messages of support on social media.
They added: "Kenni is so grateful for all of your messages. He will not be able to respond personally to every single one, but has read them and continues to do so. His brain cannot take the pressure it would cause for him to reply to everyone at this time.
"As a family we are so happy with this outcome, and we are thankful for all of your great support. It cannot be said enough."

Coventry Speedway have confirmed that team manager Gary Havelock has parted company with the club.
The 1992 World Champion spent the last four seasons in charge of the Buildbase Bees, reaching the Elite League play-offs on two occasions.
In 2014 they lost out in the Grand Final to Poole, whilst in 2015 they were defeated semi-finalists against the same opponents after finishing second in the regular league table.
Coventry promoter Mick Horton said: "Gary has other opportunities ahead, and we wish him all the best for the future." |

Former Coventry Bees rider Greg Hancock needs only three points from tomorrow's Australian Speedway GP to lift his fourth world crown, at the age of 46.
He has taken advantage of the absence through serious injury of previous leader Jason Doyle (Swindon) to have one hand already on the trophy, prior to the series finale at Melbourne's Etihad Stadium.
The meeting, which also features outgoing Bees skipper Chris Harris, is being broadcast live from 8.45 tomorrow morning on BT Sport 2 - any forum members tuning in will almost certainly get a glimpse of the Canberra Bulls banner proudly displayed by our own Johnnie Walker.
