A pleasant sight to see from the old Telegraph Office balcony, was this 1950 "WESTERN NATIONAL" Bristol KS5G, that was a long way from its place of origin, down in the West Country. Just about visible on its open rear platform there is conductor "JIM BAILEY", who along with his lovely wife Maurine, are both regulars every year when it comes to conducting on the Free Heritage Bus Service!!!!!!!!!!!!! (And long may they both continue to do so, I say!)

The buses carried about 40 passengers per trip over the 2 days. The majority visited the Electric Train Museum. With the closure we will need to see whether the buses are worth running next year

There are city centre tours taking place on Sunday September 9 using a Heritage Coventry Transport bus. They are free and run from Millenium Place, first bus 10.00, last one 16.00. Trip takes about 30 minutes and gives you an opportunity to see 17 notable Coventry Heritage Buildings on one journey.

The list isn't exhaustive yet but it's nice to see that Bonds will be open this year. It's one of the places I really want to visit. Link to Heritage weekend site

With Monastery not open; Charterhouse not open; Lunt Fort not open; do Coventry Council really have any interest in promoting heritage in Coventry? Certainly not good for a city becoming City of Culture
