Thanks Rob, they look far better in a gallery and I agree with the Herbert. At least they will not end up in a dustbin. |

A good shot that reminds us of the size of the place! Said it before - they really should've saved Ivy Cottage.

The tall chimneys in the shot gave rise to the name of the rocket range. I worked in there briefly when TR7 production was transferred from Speke. Most of my time there was working in 21 shop on the 2000, 2500, Spitfire, etc. Looks like the pic was taken in the 1960's. Happy days. |

Does anyone remember the custard yellow coloured Standard Atlas pick up trucks that were I think used internally around the factory. I can recall seeing them from the road but I can't remember exactly where. After the factory closure in about 1981 they were in the huge mountain of scrap at Kilbanes Metals in Coronel Avenue (just next to the current CCFC ground). The scrap mountain included enough parts to build any make of Triumph from the 70's plus at least one pre-production Triumph TR7, a green one I think, painted in Dolomite colours and with Dolomite badges. There was also a very squashed black TR7 which could have been some sort of prototype. |
