My ex father-in-law was the late George Huxham who was a gentleman of the highest order, and had two Greengrocer shops in the Green Lane area. He donated a table tennis trophy, The Huxham Cup, which I think was played at the YMCA (not too sure about that). My interest is
1) Does anyone remember him and
2) Is the cup still played for or where is it? |

How long ago was this Gangan and do you know where abouts in Green Lane.
I have lived in the Green Lane area for 45 years and I know there was one on the Kenpas Highway and also one actually in Green Lane itself. |

Hello gangan and welcome to the forum
A quick Google produced this, and you'll see that the Huxham Cup is still played for |

383 Green Lane would have been his private residence, and Brentwood Ave his first shop. I believe his shop in Green Lane would possibly have been No. 375 - which existed when we moved into the area in 1982. I don't recall this shop trading for very long after '82. |

That's right. 383 was the private address. Mr Huxham sold the shops to another local man and then retired. He passed away in his sleep in the mid 80's i think |
