Old Coventry firms

My mum owned Glenn's sweet shop in Hales Street in the late 50's/early 60's. I believe it was originally owned by Glenn's sweet manufacturers. She's nearly 92 and still alive.

This is one of Coventry's most successful business histories, where I used to work in the late 60/70s, Shakleton Road, Coventry, offices.

Was this photograph printed in reverse? Or was it that this photograph truly represented what existed then? As I remember Lant's it was smaller building, encountered - after leaving the Town Wall Tavern - somewhat to the right of that building, rather than to the left, as the photograph displays. Perhaps, by the late 50s - when I was a member of the Young Stagers at the Belgrade Theatre - Lant's pop joint was a shadow of its former self. But what represented itself as Lant's in the 1950s emphatically would have been to the right when exiting the TWT. (The TWT - 1950s/1960s - had a "snug" that defied all other pub's claim to having a snug, but - in the main - folks went into the saloon for a drink, rather than the bar - though both were exemplary.)

It was definitely to the left LongfordLad as this 1953 planning application I posted earlier in the thread shows. Glenn's was to the right and the space on the corner of Riley Street was never built-on and finished its days as a used car lot:

A very clever transposition, but the steering wheel is now on the wrong side, also the OFFICE sign on the windows has been omitted.

I wondered who would notice the "OFFICE" sign on the windows - unfortunately, with the graduation effect of the shadows, I hadn't got time to fix that, so I thought it better to remove them However, full brownie points for the steering wheel - I forgot that!!! Maybe this truck had dual-controls?
