Earlsdon RUFC

From a very young age, I always played football. First for Henry Parkes, Woodlands, Canley Club, Wickman and the Dolphin on a Sunday. One Saturday, our game at Wickman was called off. A mate who had dropped me off played for Earlsdon RUFC and said "come and watch", so I did. At the time they ran 4 teams. First and third team were away and the second and fourth teams were at home. Apparently it was normal for the fourth team to always be short of players. The shout went out "any one have their boots", my mate immediately volunteered me. When asking what position I played and hearing my response that I didn't, I was put in at full back. When we scored a try, I was elected to take the kick, which came easily to me. Anyway cutting the story short. I never went back to football and stayed at Earlsdon for the next 5 years or so. Is there anyone else out there who wore the red and white hooped shirt?
