Coventry Motofest / Festival of Motoring

Neil, My Riley was one of five that were on display in the cathedral two weeks ago. I wonder how many of the people that walked past AKV892 in BJ's video will know of its history in the blitz. I'm not sure about the customisation on the Kestrel Beer's Riley, but to each his own, as they say

Just for awareness. As well as the Sky Blues game, this weekend's MotoFest has now been cancelled. MotoFest would like to express how deeply saddened we are at the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts are with the King and the Royal Family at this time. Following consultation with our event partners Coventry City Council and E.ON Drive, we have agreed, in line with protocols regarding the death of a monarch, to postpone this weekend's MotoFest festival. The postponement will extend to all supporting events set to be staged as part of the MotoFest weekend. We would like to thank all our sponsors, partners, supporters and the general public for all their continued support and understanding. There will be further updates in due course regarding future dates for the event.

Took the opportunity to attend this years MotoFest whilst in town at the Archives on Saturday. I must say Town was very busy though did not seem to be as many cars on display this year - more food and drink? Anyway very pleased to say my cousin won this years Concours event held for some lovely vehicles within the Cathedral ruins. Here is his lovely XJC along with Michael and I -

Apparently there were a lot of car shows on at the weekend, Neil, we went to the monthly one at Middleton Hall. Love your cousin's car.

My Riley was first registered by Central motors of St Anne's in Fife, then no trace of it till the Isle of Wight in the 70s, then back to me in 1978. Sometimes when I'm sitting in it I wish it could tell me where it had been all that time.
