Many years ago I inherited a mantlepiece clock from my aunt on my mother's side of the family. The inscription reads "Presented to Audrey after 12 years service from her Friends at A.G.E.D." I believe she was leaving to get married which was a common occurrence in those times; which I think would be between 1950 and 1960. I would be interested to know who A.G.E.D. were, as Google has failed me and I have moved away from the Midlands and no longer able to go flirting about in the museums and libraries of the fair city! I have a vague recollection of the Admiralty being mentioned but little else to go on! Any help appreciated
