Well done, Neil.
I wonder if it was damaged in the war and not restored?
Does this give us a date for the building (1914), rather than the earlier date (1848) which refers to the business?
Spennells 1912-13 Directory shows them at nos.1-2, the first building below Cross Cheaping, and immediately above Crystal Palace Inn.
Update..
From the newspaper archives, it would seem that they moved into their new premises in June 1915. |
