That was a watering hole of my father-in-law "Jack Cottom" R.I.P. till he popped off in 1974, I never went in the place myself. |

It was Much Park Street before the Ring Road cut it off. |

The shop next door to the pub was George Stokes cycle shop, used to love having a mooch inside, used to watch old George sitting with a cycle wheel and truing it up using small key. Had my first bike from there, a Herculese Ranger 18 inch frame |

I think this is the same image of the pub on the pubs section, however some good detail to include the row to the side. I know The Rodney had a Short Street address but wasn't it more on Much Park Street or even London Road? Where did those two meet?

Definitely Much Park Street, not quite half way between Short Street and London Road but the Ring Road messed stuff up. |

Some of my ancestors lived in MPS, but it wasn't until fairly recently (in terms of my research) that this forum showed me that in fact they lived alongside the site of the Rodney. |

I think that this is the first image I've seen of that side of Short Street. |

The Rodney I know of. I found the address to be 88 Much Park Street and, to put the cat among the pigeons, it is or was also 82 Short Street.
According to Google Maps, Short Street now runs a bit from Parkside down to the ring road and then across the front of the Rodney to the London Road.
Looking at the map, there is no mention of the Rodney but there is a place called Glamours, roughly in the same place as where the Rodney would be or was.

The ring road chopped off the southern end of Much Park Street. They renamed that section 'Short Street' as it was still attached to that road. St John Street also vanished under concrete and was re-established further north. |
