Pool Meadow and Fairfax Street (new and old)

One of the best / nearest pre-Ring Road Pool Meadow images I've seen.

That's how I remember Pool Meadow

And me - just how I remember it.

Also as I remember it well!

I remember in 1958 going to Brighton by coach from Pool Meadow. It took ages to get there without motorways. A few years later I had a girlfriend who lived in Warwick and we used to meet in Pool Meadow when she came into Coventry by bus.

I've a question. Which is the sandstone block constructed building on the extreme left side of this photo? Cheers.

It's the rear of Trinity Hall

I am completely dumbfounded - how on earth was this building demolished to make way for a road? It's shameful.

And soon enough, the city centre precincts which the town planners replaced it with will become heritage listed and cannot be demolished or altered!
