I love Cash's pictures. I was bought the butterfly set for my 25th wedding anniversary nearly 23 years ago. |

Thanks for the links, Morgana, what a lovely collection. Wonder if they would be worth a pretty penny in years to come.
I remember the cigarette cards eons ago, embroidered flowers. |

Dreamtime, the cigarette cards are worth a bit now, I have a friend who collects them. Unfortunately the pictures I have haven't increased in value, they appear to be holding their own. |

They do go for more Tricia if you watch like I have over the years the end bidding, I think the book markers the old ones which they first made are quiet expensive

That's a good extract from the Illustrated London News, nice to see Joseph Paxton mentioned. A lot of people don't realise that he was also a Coventry MP and was responsible for our London Road Cemetery.
We have a bound volume, they are very large and weigh rather a lot.

My older sister worked at J & J Cash, and I remember her bringing home ribbons with our names all along it. Then my mum would cut them off and sew them into our school clothing in case we lost anything. Milly rules

A friend of the family paid for my name tapes. She ran a haberdasher's in Hillfields but the name escapes me now?
Edit: I just remembered it was 'Edna' or 'Aunt Edna' as I used to call her.

Dutchman, was it Edna Gerrard? I think she had the baby linen shop in Primrose Hill Street. She used to organise day trips for the ladies, I believe, because my mother went on some. Anyway, mum is arriving here tomorrow so I will pick her brain some more. |

Quite possible. It was somewhere along that route but I can't remember exactly where? She had a husband I called 'Uncle Dick' who owned a Rover Viking and we used to go for drives in the country on Sundays as they had no children of their own.

We also have this print, numbered 104 of 773. Apart from information about the artist, I have not been able to find out anything else either. It is a fantastic piece of artwork with lots of fine detail. |

Was sad to read of Cash's demise, with all that history. I had a beautiful gift bookmark sent to me this Christmas of Santa, woven at Cash's and it will be treasured for ever. |

I agree Dreamtime, a very sad day indeed. I have a number of their bookmarks (a sample can be found here in this thread)
There are still lots for sale on the internet but I guess the popularity of collecting them has dwindled in recent years.
