On 7th Mar 2010 1:47am, dutchman said: Thanks Rob. Another photo confirms the building in the foreground is indeed part of "Judges Court" but was this really located in Little Park Street or was it in neighbouring Much Park Street? (I have seen it captioned as both on the Library Pictures pages). The three storey jutted timber-framed building in the distance also looks suspiciously like No 10 Much Park Street before it was dismantled and reconstructed in Spon Street. Much Park St Painting by Colin Dick
Reading this old post, I noticed that it said the painting was by Colin Dick. Was this the same Colin Dick whom was an art teacher at Woodlands in the 60's?

Thanks MR and what a great link. Colin took me for art at Woodlands and was a great teacher. One of my fondest memories is of him ice skating on the Biology pond in the school grounds.

I cannot wait to get back to Cov to walk around Spon Street. Aside from going to a couple of pubs as a teenager and visits with my dad in the late 50's, I didn't go there very often. The artwork shown on this thread is beautiful. Can you get prints?

Florence Weston - I didn't know until just a few minutes ago that she was the wife of my 1st cousin 2x removed. I had a number of hints this morning from Ancestry - most are usually useless and inaccurate - but for some reason I clicked on the one referring to 'Florence Salter'. This was a link to her obituary in 1942, and when I followed it up, I found the Coventry Standard reporting on the funeral of 'Mrs Florence Weston, of 38 Coniston Road, Coventry, the well-known artist...' Her husband was Thomas Davenport Weston, whose mother was Charlotte Lines, a member of the Lines/Lynes 'dynasty' which has previously been referred to with this forum.

Does anyone know of any images of Sydney Bunney himself? I know he passed away in 1928.
