The images say opposite Toby's on Bishop Street. I occurs to me that they mean Tooby's? Roll eyes I just worked it out.

Verification for Tooby's in Bishop st? 1940 directory.

That helps thanks Heathite Thumbs up That puts the well at something like 13 or 14 Bishop Street.

Hey, nice work! I guess with thousands of images to label all those years ago, someone at Coventry Library in their haste must've allowed a few errors to creep in. Anyway, I've corrected this one now - thank you!

You can just see that old well that was visible in Broadgate pre-Cathedral Lanes here on the left.
