Hi, I'm an artist and lecturer from Hereford, working at Meter Room project space in Coventry to research, and make work about, the Rex Cinema and, specifically, the aviary that was in its restaurant. Does anyone have any information about the aviary - there is a report online (from the brilliant Coventry Rebuilt website) that some of the birds were found still on their perches the morning after the first bombing of the cinema but that is all I can find out about either the birds or the aviary. I'd be grateful for any more information/details if anyone has any? Many thanks, Celia

Thank you so much, Annewiggy - this is much appreciated, especially the new (to me) information of there being a dozen live birds found, the scattered window fragments and the safe safe!

Hi Celia, sorry I missed saying hello when you joined. I can't add to Anne's article but I'll keep my eye open.
