MR. Thanks for this. The second from the left FP Eburne (Hon Sec) fourth man from left (facing camera) is my Dad, Bill Whitehead (Stoke Bowling Club) and the fifth from left my granddad HW (Bert) Kendall. James Taylor far right.

They did know each other, as I've just found out that they met in the quarter final of the County Pairs in 1944. My grandad and Albert Ballance (mentioned elsewhere on this forum) beat Bill Whitehead and Bert Kendall, as per this Telegraph report: The "consolation" mentioned is for Williamson and Ballance, part of the reigning Fours champions, who had been heavily defeated in the quarter final of 1944, and my grandad had also lost in the Singles quarter final. Oh my

The Bournemouth photo was taken on the County Tour to Hampshire, as reported in the Midland Daily Telegraph on 23 Aug 1937 Thumbs up

I've now found a report on Warwickshire's Club Championship in 1938, showing that my grandad skipped an Avenue rink to victory over Wolvey, with Bert Kendall at no.2 Thumbs up

MR. For the Avenue players listed are Frank Barry and Dennis Drane. Both colleagues of HW Kendall, my granddad.
