DOODLE - Welcome btw! - just done a quick google and found this - Could they be from "TIGER LAMPS, 33 HERTFORD PLACE, COVENTRY", who advertised 1958-62 as a wholesale lighting business run by Martyn Harold and accountant, Denis Jones. The company "manufactured" industrial lighting fluorescents as well. In 1959 after a sales rep had stolen near £500 worth of lamp bulbs, Tiger Lamps valued 223 gross (4460) at about £1.500; about 80d. each, which inflates, check my maths, to £7.50p nowadays! Tiger Lamps were selling off their 1958 works Austin Minibus for £420 and a 1959 Austin A50 van for £300 in June 1960. Can't have been there long as in the 1950s No.33 was used by William B. Harris Ltd., a general wholesale business, run by a Mr. Beesley, who until his retirement was said to have lived at 33 Hertford Place, Coventry, the address given for his warehouse, "an unusual, bow fronted Victorian house", which was demolished in 1963 for the ring road. All the houses in Hertford Place up to No.32 were up for demolition in 1958, and Nos.33 and 34, which ran through to Queens Rd, were listed for compulsory purchase by the council in 1961. Anyone remember 1950s Coventry? Also a Martyn Harold, described as "a former managing director of Greyfriars Productions (Fittings) Ltd, a Coventry firm of vehicle component manufacturers" died aged just 44 in 1971.

In 1963 they were at 39 Queens Road, and in 1970 at Falkland Close, Canley

Hi NeilsYard Many thanks for that interesting info, my daughter found some of these lamps in her garage, did a Google search but found nothing! You must have the magic touch. She is thinking of putting them up for sale, but I wouldn't hold my breath!
