Personally, I thought Bishop Street was a carbuncle, and it's not going to be a shopping complex/supermarket. It's going to be student flats with a modest retail unit on ground floor. Previous attempts to turn the building into something failed.

Thanks for that MR. I have to say that one area that could do with more information is the stretch closest to the Ring Road. I think I know where the wall ran almost until you get to the north wall (which is probably under the Road). But it's not clear from any map I've seen where that wall crossed the north edge of the Post office complex and exactly what angle. The tower would have been under the roadway into the north car park, partly in Tower street if the maps line up with google. If either that road or the one that runs between the ring road and the Post office were dug up, it might be worth looking for the line of the wall.

The problem is when the GPO building was constructed, they levelled the ground by up to 4metres, and this means its unlikely anything will have survived.

This development, and the one in Hales Street (visible under construction in the Trinity Street and Butcher Row threads), will certainly change the city skyline.
