St George's Day

I still have my flag flying atop a 25 foot mast in Mount Street with my Meriden built Triumph Motorcycle,im proud of Coventry and England and all the Industry that came out of this fine city.

Every year on St George's Day I wear a red rose button hole, and every year someone will ask me why I have, ask if I am going to a wedding.

Gangan. Sorry to say but it boils down to a generation gap, the younger ....... (I am looking for an appropriate name here) anyhow they are simply not interested in traditions anymore. Too busy doing their own thing, whatever they call it these days.

More surprising is no one has mentioned that he lived in Coventry, in Coventry's other castle, Caludon. The castle is said by local traditions to have been the home of England's Patron Saint. He died from wounds on defending the city. Beloved and mourned by the town's people and the country generally. So much for tradition. but then there's historic reality.
