Paynes Lane

Neal Gault on FB has allowed me to post this excellent image. It shows family relatives of his, Sam & Francis Bedford, who owned this shop on the corner of Paynes Lane and Oxford Street, Coventry - greengrocers & confectioners. You can see the same shop in the brilliant image Covjb35 shared with us on post #8 on this thread.

Dean Nelson shared this one on FB today purporting to be Paynes Lane but I can't place it - anyone?

I'd say that was correct. Albert Knight had a grocery/provisions shop at 1 Brittania Street in 1940 on the corner of Payne's Lane. I would say this view is from the 1950s?

I agree Rocksolid. If you look on google maps the side of 1 Brittania Street in Paynes Lane the windows look the same but is just been changed to be the side of the house.
