Coventry School of Music

I have photos from the famous youth orchestra tour of Europe in 1962. Most are of places, but here are two that show people. We stopped for a mid-morning break, somewhere in Austria. Brian Llewellyn and Phil McConnell got their instruments out and began playing a reel, "Strip the Willow" and some of us danced. Peter Warner provided some clapping percussion next to Brian. In the second photo I can see Ken Cox, Les Berger, Paul. Left to right, Liz, Anne, Angela Smith have their backs to us then Charmion and Jenny by the coach. The locals were either amused or bemused.

I think that's me in front of the fire extinguishers (and I'm wearing a tie!). I don't recognise anyone else, though, so maybe it isn't me.

I just came across this site. I was a percussionist in the band from 1968-1972 while a student at Lanchester Polytechnic.
