Watching the excellent Bangers & Cash today, when Whitley, a suburb of Coventry appeared as a name for a car. I'm no vintage car expert, but the car featured was rare, and had the "original" receipt as well. I took a screen shot as several recognisable names cropped up. Hope it's "relevant" in this great forum.

When I was looking for a car to restore I knew it had to be Coventry built . The marques I considered were Riley, Alvis, Lea Francis and Armstrong Siddeley, specifically a Typhoon, as it was the Riley was slumbering in a lock up in Barnacle, sorted Smile Smile . All this was 37 years ago
This gearbox is still available from a company called PBM Engineering in Germany. Edited by Midland Red, 25th Feb 2021 5:34 pm (Link clarified (English version))

Mick, this guy is well known to members of the Riley fraternity. He does do a good job but knows how to charge, expect to pay £8-10k. Several of the local Riley people rebuilt a gearbox 2 years ago, enough to make your hair curl.
