Hi, The pic is of my MG TD 1937 which I had to sell owing to the fact it was not big enough to accommodate our first born in 1971. Although the MG was assembled at Abingdon near Oxford, all of the coachwork was made by Carbodies of Coventry. To me, very elegant coachwork. Thumbs up

Hello, Does anyone have any images of cars that you'd see in Coventry during the mid 1980s. Coventry made vehicles, mainly, but also other makers.

These are great photos. Found this forum looking for stuff for my children's homework. They are only 4 but are writing about old cars so I thought I'd show them some of the kind of cars my granddad would have worked on after the war, working at the Morris engines plant. My dad's first job was at Jaguar so I've always had a soft spot for Cov built cars of the 60s and 70s

Hope this link works. It is AP film of the Ferguson car which, although revolutionary with new transmission and anti skid brakes, never made it into production.

This one was a totally different concept as the engine powered a high pressure compressor which pushed fluid to units on all four wheels. As I remember, the braking was done by reversing the fluid flow.

This thread was in danger of becoming difficult to moderate with posts on so many car manufacturers Therefore, separate threads are now open for : Standard-Triumph Humber/Hillman/Rootes/Chrysler/Talbot Lea-Francis Jaguar (incl. SS) Daimler/Lanchester Riley Threads are already open for some other manufacturers Thumbs up

Hi Morgana, Fascinating links, and some great footage there, I will explore further. Lots there not Coventry related but historical and interesting. I remember seeing somewhere the Duke of Edinburgh at the Alvis works. Wave

This morning being a nice day went for a stroll and on the front was an old cars display, 20 odd cars of which at least 8 were bulit in Cov, Standard 10 companion, 1923 Humber, 2 Jags, Riley, Hillman Hunter and a Daimler. Took pics, will upload them this week Thumbs up
