Lants came up on the Bond Street topic just before this bottle was found. There seems to be very limited information on Lants, so help needed please. Just found this image.

In the 60s I remember their answer to Vimto, Lanto! - it was quite decent. |

I am surprised at the lack of information.
All I can find is they had a depot in Northampton and were taken over by R Whites and renamed to R White Lant in 1964. Apart from Cov Archives having some receipts for mineral water bottles, that's it. What a shame for a prominent firm in Coventry established in 1830 to go so unnoticed. |

The company became a subsidiary of J Lyons & Co in 1955 and acquired by R White's in 1962. In 1950 they installed new American machinery in Bond Street. In 1962 as R White Lant they moved to new premises in Bodmin Road, Walsgrave. |

Going back many years when I was a nipper in Radford, I believe R White Lants had a small depot on Bennetts Rd somewhere near the Bell pub. I could be wrong, as my wife says, I usually am. Nicholson

Very likely, Mick. There is a Lant Close just off Duggins Lane. And Nailcote Hall is just round the corner. Most likely named after the Lants.
Like in Long Itchington, in recent years a Chater's Orchard was built. Just over the road from the Buck and Bell, which Monty Chater ran for years. |

The Lant family made Nailcote Hall their home for some 300 years, and during this time the property saw many alterations, including a Georgian wing which was added in 1780. When restoration work was carried out more recently [when?], a priest hole was discovered in what is now the Oak Room restaurant.

Jay McKeown, who is currently running the Turks Head Community Centre Project (see the pubs' thread here for when I had a wander!), just found this in the loft space. Don't think I've seen an intact bottle of theirs before!
