Hello there, This is a somewhat unusual request in that I am looking for information on a Mr K (Kenneth or Keith?) Hunter, who lived in Coventry at 39 The Mount, Cheylesmore/Coventry in June 1939. He was born on 6 May 1899 and died in 1940? (not entirely sure of the latter fact). He was married to Mrs Evelyn A. Lacey (dob 13 July 1899) and he was described as being an aero engineer. The reason I am interested in obtaining details about this person is that I am the photographic archivist of the French Railways Society, a UK-based association of some 450 people interested in the history of French railways, and we are associated with a similar organisation in France (Cercle Historique du Rail Francais). The latter has purchased a large collection of photographs of French railway wagons taken by K. Hunter in the 1920's & 1930's across France and they would like to put a biography to this photographer. Apparently, K. Hunter was a prolific photographer of goods wagons, operated by the various railway administrations across the European continent and we understand that the French part of his collection only comprised about 15 percent of his output. If any of the members of this forum are able to shine some light on Mr. K. Hunter and/or his photographic activities I would be delighted to hear. I realise that this is all some time ago and many records will have bitten the dust but I would be grateful for any snippet of information. Many thanks in advance & best regards/ Bram van der Velden French Railways Society Photographic Archivist Tel 020.7607.7432 Cell 07711.712422 Email bvdv@fastmail.fm

Hi Bram, welcome to the forum Wave What a lovely endeavour. Are you sure you want to post the email? Bots search the net for readable emails and add them to spam lists. Some people put 'at' and gaps instead of '@'. Most can work out how to recreate the real version. Just a thought.

Hi Bram. This may not be relevent to your research but it may help. When there is a further name on the 1939 it is usually because the wife has remarried. Kenneth Hunter, a draughtsman married Evelyn Anne Caroline Hansley in Mortlake 3rd August 1929. He was the son of Henry Cornelius Hunter a marine engineer. Evelyn married Reginald E A Lacy in 1953. She died in Brighton in 1985, her probate on Ancestry shows she left a considerable amount of money, I think this must have been to do with Mr Lacy. Kenneth is also mention in the RAF records on Ancestry with a date 9/5/1918 but this requires a further subscription with another site.
