Need some advice. Left Coventry when I was 11 so not familiar with every area of the City. I'm trying to find out where my Grandmother is buried and all relatives are now dead. I believe someone once mentioned she was buried in the area near to the Ricoh Arena is now (would this be Longford ?)but she died very young in 1934. Can someone advise as to where this location is likely to be and what the burial ground would be called ?

Could be St. Pauls or even St. Giles, Exhall.

Sound like St Pauls cemetery in Holbrook Lane. I will post the map in due course if you like. It is a very old cemetery now hemmed in on all sides.

Some might, slightly cruelly, say that the inside of the Ricoh is very similar to a cemetery on a matchday these days..... Wink

Certainly a possibility, although slightly further away from The Ricoh Arena than Windmill Road

There are also two small, probably disused, cemeteries in Longford at Union Place and Lady Lane (Salem Baptist).

Hi & Welcome, Wave Philex31 Hope you enjoy your time with us. As well as you coming from Devon, there are friends on here from 'Down Under' as well as from 'Across the Pond'. Sorry, I can't do the dialects but I am sure that our friends will. I will have a look next time I am walking the Coventry Canal, that way. Best wishes. Wave
