Wheatley Street School

I took the 11+ examination in the building when I was at Folly Lane(Gosford Park) based on socio-economic factors and my elder brother and cousin had been at Jnr Tech school so I guess this is why I went there.

Hello, I had a gap year, 1963/4, between leaving school & the start of my formal finance education. So I started a very basic Principles of Accounts preliminary at the school referred to as Priory High, which involved a late Friday evening. I was there on Friday 22 November 1963, when all classes were halted due to the announcement of the assassination of President Kennedy. Gosh! Over sixty years ago.

Thanks to Gray Forster on FB - I always thought that 'chimney' behind looked strange and didn't match the rest of the building - it definitely was though (c)BFA -
