Have you sent for the death certificate for the baby Mary Eaves, I think you can download them as a PDF now. That may give you some information as to whether she died in hospital. Your question about a gravestone. There is a lot of plots without gravestones. I think a lot of families would have been hard pressed to afford one. My grandad's doesn't have a gravestone, just a marker. I still have a document that says who is buried there. Grandad married in 1900, had 3 children. By 1905 the children and his wife had all died from various chest illnesses. Grandad is buried with both his wives, one of which was my grandma who also died young. Just one of the children is in it. The other 2 are buried with other members if the family. |

Many thanks Garlands for this info. Exactly right as my mother born 1910 and would have been at school with Philip, as I remember being told. |

There's a news article about Florence Cattell (71 Bray's Lane) in the Coventry Evening Telegraph (Tuesday, 23rd of April 1968):
"School Founder.
Another sprightly 90 year old is Mrs. Florence Cattell, the founder of Stoke Lodge School. She lives at 71, Brays Lane, Stoke, and celebrated her 90th birthday yesterday.
Sixty years ago she started classes with six pupils in the front room of her home at 15, St. George's Road. The School developed and later moved to Stoke Lodge.
Mrs. Cattell retired 30 years ago, but she keeps busy and every Sunday she attends the Christadelphian Hall, Grosvenor Road, both morning and evening."

Great GJS, reading that I now remember it concerning Stoke Lodge School. The girl next door to me attended Stoke Lodge when I was a teenager. |
