Hi. I'm really hoping someone may be able to help. My great Nanna Mary Lavinia Cattell died during childbirth in 1924. She had no other children. Her husband remarried and all photos of Mary were destroyed. My Nanna (now in her 90s) has never seen a photo of her Mum. Her parents William Cattell and Caroline Barton had three girls - Hilda who married Ralph Hewitt, Edith who married Thomas Fred (Fred) Marsden who died on 14th Nov 1940 in the Coventry air raids and my great Nanna Mary. Maybe someone recognises these names or are related and maybe has some photos of the family or just some information. I'd love to know more about the Cattells. Thank you |

Hi, if you have an Ancestry account there are publicly published family trees to help you.

My schoolfriend's parents knew a Mrs Cattell, a widow in the 1950's. She lived in Bray's Lane, Stoke. She had a son Philip who was at school with my mother, c.1920. He died young, not sure of the age but probably eleven or thereabouts. The family were Christadelphians, and attended Wycombe Hall in Well Street. I met Mrs Cattell when she visited her friends in Botoner Road, Stoke. I do not have any photos or more information. |

Thank you Heathite. I've traced the family back several generations, it was more the personal information or photographs I was after. When my Great Nanna died during childbirth no one spoke of her again. I would love to find some family who maybe able to give my nanna some information. |

Hi, so you have the photo of John Henry EAVES?
There's an OWEN Tree that I am on somewhere.
An Owen is my brother-in-law and his mum was from Atkins Square, Gosford Green. A BAYLISS married an OWEN |

Our family name on my grandmother's side before she married was Eaves. She came from a large family who resided in Hope Street, Spon End in the nineteenth century. |

Hi, I hope this is visible.
I've found that a smart-phone is often best for viewing as the 'pinch to zoom' works really well

Hi GemmaB, Amelia.
Looking at the directories above, it must have been a common name in Coventry. |

Thank you Wearethemods. It certainly seems that way. I had never met or heard of the name Cattell until researching my family. I'm sure there must be some relatives living around Coventry. |
