I have now found the stamping works on my 1927 map, but it is one of the very few that is not named. I have now been told that Jeffrey Woods Cross was definitely the Five Ways at the junction of Harnall Lane East and Swan Lane.
The Five Ways in the timetable is identified as a Fare Stage between Cash's Lane and Brett's Works, so I think it must have been where Springfield Road meets Leicester Causeway and Harnall Lane West, because the route was Foleshill Road, Eagle Street, Harnall Lane West and Harnall Lane East. Although JW's Cross was a five ways, it is beyond Brett's Works on the route.

British History Online says the land belonged to Geoffrey de Langley and he had woods there.

On the 1850 map it is marked as Geoffrey Woods Cross. At that time it was more of a T junction with Swan Lane heading north and southeast and Harnall Lane coming in from the west. Nicholls Street was a farm track turning into a footpath as it headed south. |

I was born 1958 and lived in Springfield Road up to 1997.
Jeffrey Woods Cross was not the Five Ways at all.
I DO remember a bus going to Jeffrey Woods Cross. I believe it was near Swan Lane |

The only 'five ways' I knew was at the start of the Stoney Stanton Road where it met with Norton Street, Jesson Street, Cook Street and Swanswell Terrace. It always amazed me because there was no roundabout. It was a genuine free for all as you could turn left or right across the other traffic. Just thought I would mention. |

One old one - Lanchester Rd in Radford.
One new one - Bluebird Drive off Beake Avenue on the old Dunlop site. I guess this was sufficiently near to the old Motor Panels factory which had a hand in building both Bluebird the car and Bluebird the boat for the late Donald Campbell.
Just thought of another one - Riley Square in Bell Green.
A couple more - Standard Avenue and another relatively new one - Sunbeam Way (new housing by Humber Rd and Terry Rd) |

There is a Massey Close on the old Banner Lane site.
I looked for somewhere related to the Alvis, no streets, but the site is called "The Alvis Retail Park"
