Brighton Street

Hi All Anyone know why Brighton Street (off the Walsgrave Road) is gated (see Google Maps) between the Hastings Road and Richmond Street junctions?

It is probably to stop the roads being used as short cuts through the estate. Looking at Google maps there are other roads that have been cut off. Some look more permanent. The Brighton Street one looks as if the gate can be opened. I remember not long after we left Butt Lane in Allesley they closed the Village end off so traffic could not get through to Browns Lane.
