Hi all
Sadly, the one on the other side of the bridge has been butchered at the top, although the spiral designed post is still in position.

That photo Philip was my playing ground from 2 years old on the station that was close by later playing in this area on your photo known as the Black Pad. Lovely to see the old lamp posts are still there the boys use to try and throw bicycle tyres over the top of the lamp post but they always got stuck on the handles at the top of the lamp post shown in your photos.
The barbed wire on the other side of the bridge was put there to stop certain people throwing bricks on to the cars below owned by a car dealer which is underside of the bridge. When buying a car from him years ago myself, that had burned out wires behind the dashboard which affected the wire to the brake pedal too, my son had to rewire all the electrics of the car to make it safe. Then I realised why he had the barbed wire. |

I used to go to Radford Congregational Church and I knew a Bill Eden many years ago. It changed to a URC then was knocked down as it wasn't practical to renovate it. Maybe this is across the road at St Nicks? |

It is the building in Cross Road, Foleshill (Stoney Stanton Road end) that is now the "Shree Mandhata Samaj" community centre, It looks like it was originally a church hall.
I walk past it occasionally at lunch time when I go to the Gallagher Retail Park.

Yes PeterB you're right over the road from the old Navigation public house corner of Cross Road, I thought Dreamtime would have got this one.

From an article in Coventry Herald 18th October 1907. The building was originally the Primitive Methodist School, Paradise, Foleshill, opened by a Mrs Drinkwater on 12th October 1907. I think I can just see the date over the door. |

Thank you Annewiggy, we couldn't get close enough as it has high railings around it and the metal gates were locked so we couldn't see the date above the door. |

My daughter went on an early morning photographic tour of Coventry City on Sunday. This is one of her pictures. Do you know where these strange squirrels (I thought they were kangaroos) are ?

Well done Morgana, spot on Janice went with a group to take pictures in Coventry at 6.30 Sunday. Apparently they were told they could not take pictures in the precinct by security although they talked them round in the end. But it is OK if take pictures on your phone .
