Gulson Rd it is. And there are others like this around Coventry. I find it interesting as the size of the doors looks like the building could have been used for something else in its time.
Always looking forward to looking at the past.

Looks like you are on the Coventry Canal tow path just past Lady Lane Caravan site where the river passes under the canal.

This is in Coventry somewhere, but can you tell where? There may be a few of these in places. Where I took this photo, there used to be two of them, but now only one remains. Thumbs up
Always looking forward to looking at the past.

The weighbridges were set into the ground next to the exit / entrance of the Canal basin. It would weigh the wagons / drapes coming in and out and made sure they had the correct weight of goods on them. (I think) Thumbs up

Hi all Wave Can anyone identify this location. In the pic is my mum, gran & me, stood next to my mums car. I know that it is before 1958 & as I am wearing my school cap it must be in Coventry. I have no idea what we were so interested in. Please can anyone help? Update 18/03/2018. I now know that this picture was recorded in Mevagissey Cornwall in 1954. It is my mums car, me, my nan & mum in the picture. My elder cousin Jennifer, now deceased, recorded the picture.

Hi Philip. I am nearly sure it says Cafe under the Wheelhouse sign, maybe? Roll eyes I will stick my neck out and say Holbrooks, the Rim & Wheel is nearby, maybe. Roll eyes

Hi NormK, I'm not that good at deciphering the blurry signs on photos but I reckon there's more than four letters in that sign. I still can't read it though! I tried a 'Wheelhouse' search and only come up with Tyre Fitting. It looks as if Philip's family and some others in the car at the back are waiting for something and by the looks on their faces, it doesn't look like they expect something too exciting, so maybe it is a new tyre!

Hi Foxy, Well I have zoomed in and even used the magnifying glass and I reckon it says CAFE, and knowing Philip I think they are considering where to eat and the folk behind are looking for a parking space. Having said that, I am probably completely wrong.

I am not sure about the author of the photo, but me in my cap & my gran in the picture suggests that it is either a Tuesday or a Thursday, as my gran played bridge on those afternoons at the Gaumont club rooms. Wave

There seems to be no reflection of any buildings on the cars front, only your relative
