Heathite, Would it be the Rose & Woodbine? A wild guess.

Crikey, you're spot on. I thought it would run for longer than that. Brill.

A lovely plaque that, the answer speaks for itself showing a rambling rose and woodbine. I wonder where that plaque is now. Roll eyes I am not that well informed really but I used to pass it on my way to work way back in the early 60's. Yet another landmark bit the dust. !

I had to look it up but I can't say I ever passed near it. You picture makes it look better than it does flat on. Thumbs up

Yes it's still in situ, here's a few pictures to study. The plaque itself looks out of place. It's too classy to be left behind on that site. Dreamtime - I bet that brick wall with the rounded nose wasn't there in your day?

Heathite, Can't say I ever did notice it before. I wonder now what will become of the building. It's nice to see the original date still there. The old place looks sturdy enough it would be a shame to see it demolished. Such a lot of the old familiar landmarks have gone since I left in 74'. Maybe a few of our old haunts have been revamped. Thank you for sharing the pics. Cheers
