Hi All, as no one has guessed yet I'll add a few clues: > The three men are linked by the things they constructed. These three constructions still stand today. > Mr A. Gregory initially objected to his construction. > Mr H. Frood built his construction using his company name which was his surname rearranged (plus an 'e'). > Mr C. Vignoles designed his construction in the 1830's. Luke. Smile

C Vignoles had something to do with railpads, the things between the sleeper and the track. So maybe a transport link as Ferodo are brake pad manufacturers, and Gregory Avenue is very near Coat of Arms bridge.

Yes Herbert Frood founded the Ferodo Braking Company in 1897 Thumbs up It was his idea to market his company to place their name on prominent road/rail bridges around the country, including the one on London Road.

Hi All, You're right Thumbs up - they're all linked by bridges. Mr A. F. Gregory objected to the construction of a railway bridge through his land but eventually agreed to sell the land, in 1843, provided it bore his family's coat of Arms. The Gregory/ Coat of Arms Bridge was completed in 1844. historiccoventry.co.uk. Mr Herbert Frood formed the brake company Ferodo in 1897. This company is famous for advertising on various railway bridges around the country- one of which crosses the London Road (The Ferodo Bridge). Geograph.org.uk. Mr Charles Vignoles designed the Vignoles Bridge, which was built in 1835, spanning the Oxford canal. The iron footbridge was later moved in 1969 to the River Sherbourne. Wikipedia.org Smile
