I attended Sir Henry Parkes in the mid-fifties and was taught by Mr Rea, then on to Woodlands. Came to Ontario in 1967.
Hi bobles, I was in Mr Rea's class in 60/61. You must have been there the same time as my sister. We lived on Charter Avenue until 71.

George Grashion was the older brother of one of my best friends. George met a tragic end in the late 1960s. He was coming back from a trip and they stopped for a break. In the dark he jumped over a wall not realising there was a large drop on the other side. |

George was one of my very best friends and our families were also close. His dad used to come to football matches with big bags of mint imperials.
George joined The Coventry Gauge & Tool as an apprentice, while I went to Wickman.
Although not quite accurate, the account of his tragic end was along those lines.

Next one in the series from Nicola Smith from the M.Toms collection. A reminder that these were taken by a gentleman who had a job of travelling around Coventry on his Motorcycle photographing Advertisement Hoarding spaces to promote their use for other business to utilise. This one is obviously the old Canley Crossing - its only comparatively recently that the crossing itself has gone and the road along Canley Road closed to traffic - which still annoys me as we're all funnelled along that crazy set of junctions by Sainsburys!

Hello,
I knew a Mrs Mumford, originally from Canley, but was a full time live in housekeeper to Mr.Dunn, who lived in St. Paul's Rd, a Foleshill butcher. He had a son who needed full time care.
I just wonder?

Hi bobles, we lived on Charter Ave by the island at that time. Our back garden met up with the back garden of 57 Walsall Street. I also went to Henry Parkes and Woodlands. Left school in 66.
