Evening Helen, thank you for trying. I thought it would be a clause from the dark ages anyway. No more perks these days. As usual it's all about money for developments and grabbing pastoral green pastures, in these parts especially.

Dropping some stuff off at the local Charity Shop, I had a quick look around and discovered these 2 badges tucked away. A bargain at £2.00 for the two.
The green and red enamelled round badge has "Coventry keep fit" around the edge. But the best one is a bronze badge that says "Freemen's Guild" in the ribbon below the shield.

This is my dad's oath, taken in 1952. He was an apprentice aircraft fitter at Armstrong Whitworth in Whitley. His apprenticeship was interrupted by the war when he trained as a fighter pilot in Canada and later returned to fly missions from the North Seas coast till the end of the war.

Hi Mitzilynne, welcome to the forum
You'll no doubt know that the sketch on the top left is St Mary's Hall and on the right it looks like it's the kitchen of the same building, looking out into the courtyard. Thanks for posting this.
