I recently came across this building and am terribly intrigued by it. It is such a beautiful building. It is a shame that it has been empty for so long. I have been digging around but have not been able to find our much other than that an engineer called Merrit lived there for a while. Does anybody know anything more please? It is such a beautiful building and I would love to know more about its history. Thanks in advance

Hi CoventryMum. This article dated 1st May 1830 from the newspaper archives says the house was newly built so that dates it to around that time.

Thank you for responding, Annewiggy and Midland Red. Annewiggy: there are documents relating to the sale of Canley Hall or Ryley Farm in the archives. I wasn't sure if this was the same place but it seems like it is from your newspaper cutting - thank you! I will look these up and see if I find anything.
