Hey, I was about to say "so you went to a girls' school", but then, as you might remember, I went to Stoke Park, so I'm already in that proverbial glass house!!! Blush

Morning Rob, My daughter went to BC's 1972/3 and I am sure it was coeducational (Tracie Shepherd) after previously attending St. Johns, Allesley Park. If my memory serves me correctly Mr. Howarth taught maths. Heavens, doesn't time fly she has just turned 50 (she is going to love me for that) and she admits my memory is better than hers!!!!!! Coincidentally, Mr. Howarth's wife taught my son in first grade at St. John's about the same time. Sorry folks, I have to keep digging up the past I do not want to 'lose the plot' yet. Wave

Memories of all the teachers. Cookie the best PE teacher ever! Mr Young great teacher and you could have a laugh with, Miss Roundsley had the hots for her!!!! She could get me to do anything for her! 2 Miss Jones one was music and one taught German who I think went on to marry one of the other teachers, Miss Cherry could never work her out! Then the famous trio Grimes Fenton and Coombes, didn't like them much when at school but when I left realised how good they were and taught me good discipline. Wanted my daughter to go there but went to a open night and was not impressed so she got her way and went to Cally, the school in my opinion had gone down in all ways, discipline, teachers, definitely the headmaster and all round appearance, shame, it was great for me! Cheers Cheers Big grin

I didn't attend the Blue Coat School, but in the 1970's I was a Samaritan and we used to operate from the Blue Coat's premises. If my failing memory serves me right, then the basement of the building was very interesting. I wonder whether the Samaritans still operate from there.

I have few fond memories of my time there but I do have a warm glow when I recall the time my mate Dave and I were falsely accused of something or other against the rules. As punishment during sports day Dave was made to empty bins and I was forced to wash pots in the staffrooms tiny kitchen area. To the teachers there in 1983 I now officially apologise for "messing with" the kettle. Happy days indeed! Edited by Midland Red, 4th Mar 2016 9:43 pm (Original wording moderated after review)

I was just wondering if anyone on here could help me, I'm trying to locate/find anyone who was at Blue Coat School between years of 1968 to 1973, particularly Christine Warren and Cheryl Blinco who were in my year throughout my 'stay'. Would like to organise a reunion for this school year. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Cheers Lol Lol

I can tell you that Cheryl A Blinco married twice, firstly in 1978 then in 1986 to Robert J Wykes in Coventry. Warren is a more common name but she could well be the Christine M Warren who married Ronald D Garland in 1980 and they are in the electoral roll for Coventry.

On a different and sadder note, does anyone remember (I hope you do!!) Ken Cook probably the best P.E. teacher I've known??? He passed away last weekend and the funeral is this Thursday 14th July 10.00am at Holy Trinity, Coventry, hope the place is packed to give him the send off he truly deserves. Hope to see you there. Thumbs up
