NeilsYard, Looking at Old-maps.co.uk the "Litten Tree" building appears between the 1906 and the 1913-14 maps. Looking at the Coventry planning portal there was an application in 1955 for a change of use for showrooms for sanitary goods and fittings.

On 14th Jan 2018 11:17am, Annewiggy said: Our son bought a 1977 book "The Rover Story" in a National Trust Book Shop last week. Lots of pictures, but I thought this view of the Rover Garage interesting. I don't think I have seen it before and most pictures are looking up the hill towards Broadgate. It is a 1920's picture and the car parked outside is a "Clegg-ype" Rover 14hp model.

Manor House. Do you know the date of the paper of the sandbagging? Early 1941 I would guess.

Manor-House. Thanks for that image. Hope it's ok but I've passed it on to Alan Denyer who is currently clearing the space above the Litten Tree to try to clear it all to create a Public Art/Display space for the City of Culture. I'll try to add any exciting finds here. Alan was the chap who was behind the previous CET building project.

Prof, I hate to see what's happening to my 'roots' in Coventry. Once those historical buildings have been demolished they can never be replaced and all that has been said is falling on deaf ears. Sad Angry

Build big and horrible seems to be the order of the day, Dream. The Precinct makeover however seems reasonable apart from the vegetation looking half dead!

I didn't notice the greenery Prof, I was too engrossed watching and hearing the water features. I wouldn't mind being there with my watering can! Roll eyes
