I desire to post a very rare gold ryal noble, struck in the Coventry mint, active in the summer of the 1465, during the reign of King Edward IV.
It show on the obverse the king crowned, standing facing in ship holding sword and shield, rose on hull, flag on which letter e (for Edward) at stern, trefoil stops; then there is a letter c in waves, indicating the Coventry mint initial.
On the reverse, a rose on radiant sun over floriate cross, crowned leopards in angles, trefoil and double trefoil stops, large fleurs in spandrels.
