Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me. I am researching my family tree on my fathers side and his name was Dennis John Walker. We all used to live in Edgwick Road and he often used to talk about his uncle Jesse James Walker who was involved with Salem Baptist Church in Longford and an uncle William Walker who he said was involved with the Navigation Pub and the Wheatsheaf. I have found a stone dedicated by Jesse in the wall of the sunday school building and I know he was a sunday school teacher there as well. We are trying to find a picture of Jesse so that I can show it my mum so that she can see the man that dad used to talk about a lot. Dad served his time at Alfred Herberts and I also worked there before it closed. As a child growing up in the area I remember it had a good community feel about it and us kids could play out until late and spend a lot of our time at Edgwick Park or digging for bottles by the canal. Any help tracing the above would be greatly appreciated.
