It's not bad, nice addition to the city's skyline. |

Flapdoodle, then educate me, explain where the word 'woman' fits in with that piece of metal.
You think it's about a woman's physical appearance and expect to see that in it. Maybe it's not about physical appearances at all?
Maybe you should use Google and find out yourself.

So I parked in Leigh Mills a week or so ago and took the opportunity to take in the view from the upper floors - especially across towards Upper Well Street (sorry no dedicated thread for there!) and the work that appears to be going on on that patch of land by the side of Ringway Hill Cross. Does anyone know what this might be? I presume they are old foundations as they appeared to be taking them out.

There are plans for three buildings here: a student block, a block of apartments and a new hotel:

Hardly any of the city's high rise buildings have balconies. |

That patch of land looks looks barely big enough for three buildings to me?! |

They've all got fairly small footprints.
Not sure which one they are doing first. I think it's the student halls.

Here's an interesting view of what was Well Street - today Upper Well Street. It's post-1968 as I think that is Nauls Mill House in the background. Pre-ring road though as I think those houses just below it were at the Hill Cross junction where Abbotts Lane met King Street. I never knew Newsome's were at that later location - I only ever knew it later when it became Lunn Poly.

Neil, this is a piling rig, they are being put in. The stubs in the pit in the foreground are the ends of the concrete piles, there will be hundreds on a project of this size. |

We used to wait for the Coundon buses here and look longingly at the faraway places advertised at Lunn Poly. Oh the places we would go! |

I remember there was a travel agents there, Linda, in the 90s. Beyond that there was a tiny car park, where for a Saturday matinee I could park and visit the theatre if I got there early enough. I never saw the fountain work though. |

I think it was on more than off but it was spectacular, if naughty, on the days someone put either washing powder or food dye in it. |
